Our promises
- Data minimization: Collect only what’s needed to run the service.
- No selling / sharing: We never sell or share your data with third-party marketers.
- Short retention: We delete data as soon as possible and keep it only as long as required by law.
- Transparency: You see what we collect, why, and how long we keep it.
- LE requests: We require valid legal process, narrow scope, notify you when permitted.
> We don’t store personal weather-query data beyond what’s needed to generate a reply — it’s purged within ≈ 2 hours.
What we collect / why / retention

> SMS is not end-to-end encrypted; carriers and gateways process messages to deliver messages — avoid sending sensitive data over SMS.
We don’t do
- No sale or “sharing” for cross-context ads.
- No ad tech or data-broker feeds.
- No tracking history beyond the single query you send.
- No model-training on your message content.
Processors
- Only essential service providers (e.g., SMS carrier/gateway, cloud host, Stripe) — bound by contract to use data solely to serve us and protect it.
LE requests
- Need valid legal process (subpoena / court order / warrant for content).
- Narrow over-broad requests, notify user when permitted.
- May publish aggregate transparency stats.
Your rights
- STOP any time to opt out; START to re-opt in.
- Access/Deletion/Correction: email privacy@zerobarsweather.com or text PRIVACY for instructions — verified requests handled within legal time frames (≈ 45 days in US).
- We keep a suppression list to respect opt-outs.
Children
Not intended for < 13; if we learn a child under 13 used it, we delete the data.
Security
Least-privilege access, encryption-in-transit, logs, deletion schedules. No system is 100% secure — take normal precautions.
Data retention
We keep personal info only as long as needed to deliver the service and meet legal/financial obligations; then delete or de-identify.
Changes
Material updates announced via service or website; “Effective date” is updated.
